Backup Secret Phrase

Learn how to protect your Trust Wallet recovery phrase safely. Your secret phrase is the master key to your wallet, and losing it can permanently lock you out of your funds.

Most Important Rule

Never share your secret phrase with anyone. Trust Wallet support, Nuemerik team, admins, agents, or moderators will never ask for your recovery phrase.

1

Understand What Secret Phrase Means

Your secret phrase, also called recovery phrase or seed phrase, is a set of words that restores access to your wallet. If your phone is lost, damaged, or changed, this phrase is used to recover your wallet.

Master Key

It controls access to your crypto assets.

Device Recovery

It restores wallet access on a new device.

Private Only

Anyone who has it can access your funds.

2

Open Manual Backup in Trust Wallet

In Trust Wallet mobile app, login using your PIN or biometric authentication. Then open wallet settings and select manual backup or back up secret phrase.

Typical Trust Wallet Path

Open Trust Wallet app
Login with PIN or biometric authentication
Tap wallet name or wallet selector
Open wallet options / three dots
Choose Manual Backup or Back up Secret Phrase

Trust Wallet may ask you to confirm security warnings before showing the recovery phrase. Read each warning carefully before continuing.

3

Write the Phrase Offline

Write every word carefully in the exact same order shown inside Trust Wallet. A single wrong word or wrong order can make recovery fail.

Recommended

Write on paper
Check spelling carefully
Keep words in correct order
Store in a private offline place
Consider fireproof/waterproof metal backup

Never Do This

Do not take screenshot
Do not save in email
Do not store in cloud notes
Do not send on WhatsApp/Telegram
Do not type it into unknown websites
4

Avoid Screenshots and Cloud Backup

Digital copies are risky. Screenshots, gallery backups, email drafts, cloud notes, and messaging apps can be accessed through malware, hacked accounts, or device compromise.

No Cloud

Avoid Google Drive, iCloud, email, or online notes.

No Screenshot

Screenshots can sync automatically to cloud storage.

Offline Backup

Paper or metal offline backup is safer.

5

Store Backup in a Safe Place

Store the written recovery phrase where only you can access it. For larger holdings, keep more than one backup in different secure locations.

Safe Storage Checklist

Private locker or safe
Away from visitors or staff
Protected from water and fire
Not visible in photos or videos
No digital copy
Known only to trusted owner
6

Confirm Recovery Phrase

Trust Wallet may ask you to confirm selected words from your phrase. This is done to verify that you wrote the phrase correctly.

Final Confirmation

After confirmation, your wallet backup is complete. Keep the phrase safe permanently, because it is needed if you ever lose wallet access.

About Screenshots

For this tutorial page, use self-captured screenshots from your own Trust Wallet test device and blur/hide all real phrase words. Do not upload or display any real recovery phrase publicly.
